Building a network of future leaders

UKDTN has awarded its first five fellowships across the UK, with outstanding applications highlighting strong potential for future clinical trial leaders.

UKDTN’s Workforce and Training Workstream has developed a national strategy to strengthen site capacity and resilience, with a focus on developing and retaining skilled staff and training the next generation of leaders in dementia research delivery.  

The first call for UKDTN clinical trial fellowships has been completed, with five fellowships awarded across the UK (Cambridge, Edinburgh, Imperial College London, Newcastle and St. Georges’); standards of applications were outstanding and hold great promise for future leaders in clinical trials. 

“We’re building capacity, strengthening skills, and inspiring future leaders in dementia research.”

Alzheimer’s Society has committed £3 million into the Alzheimer’s Society UKDTN Research Nurses programme embedding a nurse network across UKDTN’s 20 sites with dedicated training, ongoing support and regular meetings. The UKDTN Alzheimer’s Society research nurses programme has now announced the first three research nurses appointed at UCLH, Sheffield, and Southampton.
